Play By Post Dark Equestria Party Thread

This is where the players will post their actions and thoughts on the game. When everyone has written in their definite actions the party leader will post in the game thread the parties actions.
ooc: I will not be party leader, you will need to decide among each other who will be the party leader.

Hawthorn strolled through the entrance of the dank town, taking in his surroundings. Of all the cities he had stopped in, this one was by far
the dreariest. Normally, he would make his stay in the surrounding woods, but the Everfree was far too dangerous to rest in on his own from
what he had gathered. Somepony would want to have an escort through it, and this is where he would make his coin.

Currency had come as somewhat of a new concept to the stallion after leaving his homeland of self-sufficient people. He had learned that gold held considerable bargaining value and a certain power over ponies. Many did such strange and inconceivable things just to posses it. However, the Earth pony knew that he would need the coinage to pretty much acquire anything, so Hawthorn hoped he could at least find some line of work in this town.

Hawthorn found the local inn with ease. Unsurprisingly, the inside was just as grim as the exterior, and many of the patrons looked down on their luck.
The stallion made his way to a table at the far end of the place and rested his hooves, listening intently to the conservations of the ponies around him.

A little green filly with gray mane, just happened to be in the same cheapish Inn, in which wasn’t too much ponies interested in strangers, which was a good thing. She was sitting quite close to far end of the place, since it was favorite spot of every adventurer in existence. She was sitting at the table, using chair and her own saddlebags (which were covered in dirt somewhat, from adventuring it seems, due to its color) to reach to it. She was slowly eating her meal, which was rather big for a small filly like that, but looking closely at her and noticing her horn, it was quite obvious why. Wizards need food, badly.

Zathra sat on the right side of Necrose, his little dragon Shard sits perched on the counter beside him, eating a piece of meat that Zathra had bought. Zathra sat and ate quietly, he didn't eat meat himself, being a pony, but he didn't mind being next to shard while he ate, especially if it made him happy.

Jace had come into the inn with his two companions and had initially sat down with them, scanning the crowd of the inn as he ate in silence. His eyes stopped momentarily on a small filly, but then moved on finishing looking around. He annihilated the meal he had ordered in short order and rose from his seat. He grinned at Necrose and Zathra.

"Well, I'm going to leave you two on your own for a while, don't get into too much trouble."

He stared at Zathra with an overly serious look that made rather clear he was joking. He then turned and walked around the inn before stopping at the table with the little filly.

"Is this place taken?"

He was gesturing at a spot quarterway across the table.

"Huh?" Spell asked, getting herself out of the whole noming loads of food process. She looked at Jace, whom looked suspicious at best, just walking to her ans asking if place was free.

"Um, sure. I guess" she replied, she was a little suspicious of him but for some reason not as she should have been, but perhaps where was a reason for it. She continued to eat her food afterwards as nothing happened, through she was obviously listening, in case of anything. She just had a lot of food to cover.

Jace grinned at the filly's response and how she promptly went back to eating as he sat himself down next to the table. He looked around the inn again and then turned back to the filly.

"Alright, I'll be honest with you, I got curious why a filly like yourself is in a place like this alone."

He then shrugged.

"That and I thought you might want company."

He offered his hoof to the filly.

"Name's Jace."

She looked at him and poked his hoove, saying she is cautious of fillylovers.

"Spell Firebrand Shock" she replied and continue to eat, thinking about something "And i'm here mostly for food, just as you three..."

She looked at ponies he was talking too, when continued to eat her never ending meal.

"Not gonna stick long in this place"

The door shut loudly as a stallion in wearing white priestly robes with the mark of Celestia's sun on them walked in with a sigh, muttering he moved to a nearby table. Ordering a drink he sat silently as he watched the ponies there as if judging them all.
Some ponies ignored him but other watched him nerviously as a priest of the Sun is feared, hated, or respected... all mattering on what ponies feel about the empress in question.

Hawthorn listened to the idle chatter of the ponies around him with disinterest. His eyes, however, were drawn to the front door as another stallion entered the inn. It was not the pony that grabbed his interest, though, but rather the symbol that he was wearing.

That peculiar sun...he had first seen it when that unicorn had tracked though his people's land. He had since then learned the meaning of it and loathe all attachment to it.

Hawthorn got up from his seat and trotted over to the newcomer. He knocked a hoof on the table to get his attention.

"You're a little far from Canterlot, don't you think?" the earth pony jeered.

Jace took a short look as a new stallion entered the inn, but turned back to Spell shortly content at leaving the stallion to be as long as he left him be.

"I can understand that, I rarely stay very long in one place, though it has nothing to do with the ponies or the place itself."

He tapped his hoof against the table a few times.

"You have any idea where you're headed?"

Spell, which also gave her attention to Hawthrorn with him being all "Tough guy", looked firstly at him and when at what she assumed was cleric. She didn't liked them very well, mostly for their... questionable activities. But she knew well enough it was rather stupid to bother touching any of them.

-"He's quite close to Canterlot, actually. Leave him alone, less trouble for you" she repled to Hawthorn, she wasn't up to observe fighting in the close quartered inn.

Spell looked at Jace once more and shook her head "Not really"

The stallion looked up, not seeming to be very suprised by Hawthorn's behavior before nodding and saying calmly, "If I was originally from Canterlot perhaps, but seeing as I am not... well."
Looking the stallion over the cleric says softly, "I am Goldenwings... what light are you guided by?"

Necrose watched the ponies in the tavern, chewing his food, he ordered a bit more than Zathra and Jace both, quietly. Jace talking to a filly who wouldn't be eating as much as she was if she weren't some manner of talented or trained spellcaster, and another earth pony stallion jeering at the pony who had just entered the inn, wearing priest robes of the Sun tyrant. The moment he noticed that, the big pony swallowed what food was in his mouth, then pushed the food he had still yet to eat to the side and leaned over the table he was sitting at, put a foreleg on it for support, and fixed the apparent priest of the Sun tyrant with an intent stare, studying him for any of the characteristics he'd come to expect of the Sun tyrant's priests after spending so much time working alongside them against his will and then fighting them after he was finally able to escape. So far, the pony wasn't like any the ex-soldier had been talked down to by before, so Necrose decided it best to just sit and watch.

Hawthorn turned his gaze towards the small filly. He gave her an incredulous look, surprised at her forwardness, before shaking his head with an amused smile. "Trouble isn't something that worries me," he said simply.

The Earth pony brought his attention back to the stallion he had approached. Goldenwings? A pegasus? It was difficult to tell under all that armor. He certainly wasn't a unicorn though, so his correction was likely to be true.

The pony's question caught Hawthorn off guard. "My light?" he echoed. "It certainly isn't that of your goddess. The only path I follow is the one of natural order," Hawthorn replied gruffly. "No bias, no judgement, no deceit; only honest and impartial."

"Then what are you doing in Equestria," the cleric asks with a smile shaking his head, "as here all there is are bias, judgements, and deceit. To find those that are honest and impartial is almost laughable."

Hawthorn glowered at the response, though a nagging thought surfaced in the back of his mind. So far, from what he had seen in his travels across Equestria, Goldenwings had only spoken the truth. Was this the way things truly were supposed to be? Were his people so completely isolated to be that ignorant?

He quickly dismissed the idea. "No, that is not all. It may be all you know though."

"Actually," Goldenwings says softly looking deeply into Hawthorns eyes, "I do know there is more, I also know there is light other then from the Sun."

Hawthorn paused after hearing the unexpected reply. Clearly, there was something else to this pegasai. "If you're no sun servant..." he began, his voice dropping to a hushed whisper, "then what are you?"

Spell, just raised an eyebrow and continued her conversation with Jace, while opening her saddlebag just little bit, for some reason.

Jace grinned at Spell.

"Want some company getting wherever? I think my companions wouldn't mind."

He looked over at Necrose and Zathra then turned back to Spell.

"Strenght in numbers and all that... though I do it mostly because I like company of others."

"It's a bit random to call random filly to travel with you, don't you think?" she asked, looking at Jace, she was studying him to see if he has any ill intent. Not waiting for it to be done she replied
"Not saying no, still a bit weird. But i guess i can do it, at least won't be as boring in any event"

OOC: I'll be using ""..."" to signify telepathy, hopefully it will be clear enough. If not let me know and I'll figure something else.

""Don't you worry girl, he's a good guy."" There was a voice speaking in Spell's head, it was almost identical to Jace's speaking voice, but it was more focused.

"Well..." Jace started to reply before he noticed the subtle change on Spell's face, something that would have gone unnoticed by pretty much anyone else, but having seen it happen countless of times he regocnised what had happened.

""You did it again, didn't you?""

""Don't worry, it will be fine...""

Jace firmly planed his hoof to his face. After that he placed it back on the table and looked at Spell.

"I reckon you heard "me" talking to you just now and I bet you're wondering what's up with that."

He shook his head.

"I know I've seen this happen often enough that I shouldn't be surprised about what "I" do anymore. In any case that was the fourth member of our group, "me"."

He put his hoof under his armor and pulled out a small shimmering silver orb identical to the one on his cutiemark. He placed it on the table and pointed at it.

"Meet "me"."

""Hello there Spell, sorry for spooking you, didn't mean to... honest.""

"Great" she replied raising her eyebrow, she wasn't amused. She knew that it was, since she had to talk in her mind quite a lot actually for reasons he doesn't know, but she was far from anything surprising.

"I guess, hello" she replied, looking at the orb, she sighed, she really didn't liked to talk in her head, it was one thing which always screwed her in very sensitive times, since it actually can break spell concentration.

"So now you know..."

Jace said picking the orb and putting it back under his armor.

"Now, what are you going to do about it?"

He was looking at Spell his head slightly tilted to the side.

"Should i do something?" she asked, looking at him raising another eyebrow. She didn't liked it, but she wouldn't tell it to anyone, really. She had her skeletons in the drawer.

"So, when are we heading out? ANd i think you should tell the other two about me, i guess" she replied

The stallion gets the feeling that Goldenwings is trying to tell him that there is more to this pegasi them meets the eyes.

"Perhaps get to know me and you will find out," Goldenwings says with a somewhat glum grin.

After saying this the stallion looked over at the filly nearby, having noticed her glances in his and Hawthorns direction.

Into the inn entered a tall mare cloaked in a dirt-brown shroud that covered the length of her body beside her front legs. The hood was thrown down, revealing a face resembling that of a marble statue, white as ivory and just as expressive; a pair of eyes like the surface of a frozen like, empty, yet still deep and cold; her mouth was merely a thin line, and her neck craned elegantly and with a noble curve. The mare's mane was black as sin, a few loose strands of hair escaping the tight, unceremonious bun that it had been made on.

The mare peered around the tavern swiftily, before she beat her hoof loudly on the floorboards to gain the attention of those inside. ”Harken, folk of Ponyburg; I am the harbinger of grave news. It has become to my knowledge that the Royal Guard will be coming here at the first light of dawn tomorrow, with murderous intent and the eyes of the Empress at their backs. Flee, all of you, lest your lives be forfeit!” She acclaimed out of nowhere, speaking in a very refined accent and with thunderous voice.
